Back Up

In the event your Primary Dog Walker or Pet Sitter is unable to complete your service, due to emergency or time off, a secondary dog walker/pet sitter will automatically be assigned. If a walker/sitter is not available, we will contact you as soon as possible. If this occurs, you will have the ability to either cancel or reschedule the service without a fee.

Billing & Payments

All payments will be made through your Client Portal. Payments are made at the time of scheduling for your service.

Cancellations

A full refund will be provided for cancellations that are made more than 24 hours before the scheduled service. There will be a $10 cancellation fee for same-day (less than 24 hours) cancellations. If a cancellation occurs from our end, you will receive a full refund.

GPS Tracking

All walks can be tracked with GPS through your Client Portal.

 

Health & Safety

We are trained and certified in Pet First Aid and CPR. We consider it our responsibility to observe your pet’s health during our time with them. We will alert you if we notice anything unusual or concerning about your pet’s behavior or health. We will also have your pets veterinary details on file in the case of an emergency.

 

Hours of Operation

Regular Service Hours are Monday – Friday 7:30am to 7:30pm. Office hours are Monday – Friday and Weekends from 6:30am to 11:00pm.

Weekend visits can be conducted with an additional fee of $3 per visit.

 

Inclement Weather

As long as the roads and weather permit, we will service your pet as requested. If we decide to cancel service, we will make t his decision on the basis of safety, latest weather reports, and road conditions. If you are an out of town client, we will make every attempt to check-in with your pet. Notifications will be sent out in advance by email and your account.

If you decide to cancel due to weather, all services canceled before 7:30am that day will have their cancellation fees waived.

Key Policy

  • All keys provided to Handy Dandee will be coded and kept in a secured key cabinet in between services.
  • If you prefer to keep your keys in a lockbox at your home, or you have a keyless lock, you will provide the lockbox or door code for us to use during services.
  • If you live in an apartment or other housing area that requires an ID in exchange for a key or fob, we will need to be notified of this information prior to the Meet & Greet.
  • If at any point you no longer requires our services, please notify us in writing (by email or text) that you will need your key returned and we will provide you with a time and ate that we are available for return. There is no surcharge for this. Please note: the key will be returned back to the person who initially provided it to us. We will use an emergency contact in the case of death or injury to the owner.
 

Rates & Surcharges

Our rates are competitive with other bonded and insured Dog Walking Businesses in the area.

  • Holiday Fees – A $5 fee will be applied for all walks and check in visits that take place during Handy Dandy observed holidays including: Easter Weekend, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Week and New Year’s Eve/Day.
  • After Hours and Weekends – A $3 surcharge will be added to all walks and check in visits requested on weekends or after 7:30pm. After Hour and Weekend walks/check ins are subject to approval.
  • Additional Pets – Our standard rates include up to 3 pets. If there are additional pets who need our care, there is an additional $5 fee per pet.

Tipping

Tipping your dog walker/pet sitter is allowed and very appreciated. Tips can be paid through your account or in cash at the time of service. If cash is provided, please ensure it is clearly noted in an envelope with the dog walker/pet sitters name.
